March 2003

It looks like a picture taken in 70's or 80's. However, it is taken in March 2003 - with Polaroid camera. Then I took this photo with my cell phone again last month. Probably a wedding from High School - Hye Young, as I remember. It was spring time, so we took a walk? Don't remember details, but the weather in this picture look warm... :)

We've been friends like... almost 20 years. Even though we don't see each other often, old friend remains as a good friend for good, I guess. I miss her. I miss good time with old friends that I could have had if I were in Korea. However, this is my life. Right now, right here. Live today.

Move and Books that I watched during this holidays...

Avatar (2009)
- I don't like Sci-Fi that much. Technologically, it is great. However, the storyline, the characters, and so on... they are so familiar. Not that new and attractive to me.

- Good movie. Good screenwriting. Let people think what life is...

Sherlock Holmes (2009)
- I didn't enjoy the movie for two reasons. One.. I didn't expect masculine Holmes. Rather thin, pale, and serious character. The Holmes in the screen was too far from my expectation. Second.. British accent.. hard to understand without subtitle. Well..

The Blind Side (2009)
- American people can really enjoy the movie. Well-made enough to enjoy. Importantly, it is based on 'true story'! Everyone loves movies based on 'true story'.

Invictus (2009)
- Few people of inspiration change the worlds... Is it true?

Made of Honor (2008)
- This is not an award-winning movie, and I didn't expect that much. You know the ending from the beginning of the movie, so... it is about how you convince the audience. Good enough for entertainment. That is enough for this type of movie.
- 7/10

The Cove (2009)
- Uncomfortable to watch. Did good job for the awareness of dolphin slaughter.
- 8/10

Friends - Season 8 (2001-2002)
- As usual, pleasant to watch this sitcom.

A Phone Call from a Friend.

Her head is much smaller than mine. Look at this picture. My face is almost two times bigger than hers. Ha-ha-ha. I have a bigger head/face, forehead, eyes, and what else? than average ppl. Well.. it is okay. It's just me.

I missed her phone call twice today. Finally I called her and we talked. I would like to go back to Korea. sometime... Can I ?

BTW, this photo might have been taken.. September 2004. I still have that t-shirt.

White House, Feb. 2008

One cold winter day. I have never dreamed living in another country. White house was just a building that I could see from the news. However, I am here. I did not plan it, but I am enjoying it.

I would like to travel more, experience more, and... spread my wings further.

2004 @ SNU

2004. My last year at SNU. I was a 5th year Ph.D. candidate.
My seat was right next the window. It was pretty good except it was freezing cold in winter.
I was able to see mountain through window. I used to notice the change of season by the greenness. I even didn't need to move my neck. Just felt the color.

I had a computer with small LCD monitor. I loved my mini keyboard and Logitech mouse. My desk lamp was one of my closest friends. Sticky notes... I love sticky notes.

I was about to leave my school of 11 years. It is a really long period of time. I didn't move around that much in my life. I grew up and lived in same city for 30 years. I attended same university for 11 years. I am working at UC Davis for 4.5 years.

Right now, I am about to leave Davis in... few months. Look around my seat here and look at the picture taken 5 year ago. How similar it is... at the same time, how different I am...
