Adam (2009)

Life is challenging because often times you need to overcome your own fear for something. For some people, the fear is more obvious and challenging.

In this movie, Adam has Asperger Syndrome, which is an autism spectrum disorder. In his life, he face a huge challenge - death of his father who had protected him from the 'real' world. He met Beth, who is pursuing children book author - maybe that is one of reasons why she could understand Adam better than other people. Adam soon opens up to Beth and they start a relationship.

Even though Beth was the one who Adam loved the most, at the same time she is a sort of 'replacement' for his father. After all, Adam starts a new life in California with new job, which he really likes and Beth writes a book inspired by Adam and publishes a book 'Adam' about raccoon family in New York Central Park.

The movie ends showing how two once complete strangers influenced each other - In the beginning of the movie, Beth talks about The Little Prince saying that she was the pilot. Meaning she learned about many things, mainly love. However, she is not the only one who learned or changed. Adam also learned from their relationship and Beth.

In life... I continuously learn. Relationship, definitely teach many things.
Life is... very very... interesting... I feel pretty sad with the fact that life is only once. One chance that you don't really want to mess up. Well... that is one of the reasons why life is so precious.
I thank to my parents, who gave me a life - a good life.

The Boat That Rocked

I don't remember how I became to watch this movie. Director? Actor? Don't remember. I could see some familiar faces in this movie including Bill Nighy, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Emma Thomson. Emma Thomson was almost a cameo appearance and hardly see her face due to the sunglasses.

Anyway, thought after this movie - Freedom is a good thing. Music is a great thing to gather people of wide spectrum - age, ethnicity, gender, and so on. Happy ending is always happy :)

Move and Books that I watched during this holidays...

Avatar (2009)
- I don't like Sci-Fi that much. Technologically, it is great. However, the storyline, the characters, and so on... they are so familiar. Not that new and attractive to me.
- 7/10

Up in the Air (2009)
- Good movie. Good screenwriting. Let people think what life is...
- 10/10

Sherlock Holmes (2009)
- I didn't enjoy the movie for two reasons. One.. I didn't expect masculine Holmes. Rather thin, pale, and serious character. The Holmes in the screen was too far from my expectation. Second.. British accent.. hard to understand without subtitle. Well..
- 6/10

The Blind Side (2009)
- American people can really enjoy the movie. Well-made enough to enjoy. Importantly, it is based on 'true story'! Everyone loves movies based on 'true story'.
- 7/10

Invictus (2009)
- Few people of inspiration change the worlds... Is it true?
- 7/10

Made of Honor (2008)
- This is not an award-winning movie, and I didn't expect that much. You know the ending from the beginning of the movie, so... it is about how you convince the audience. Good enough for entertainment. That is enough for this type of movie.
- 7/10

The Cove (2009)
- Uncomfortable to watch. Did good job for the awareness of dolphin slaughter.
- 8/10

Friends - Season 8 (2001-2002)
- As usual, pleasant to watch this sitcom.
- 10/10

애자(2009)
- Okay movie to watch. Mother becomes a friend to a daughter. Love you, mom
- 7/10
